WHAT IS THE RANGATAHI MANIFESTO?
A bold, progressive roadmap that highlights the need for immediate action to combat the issues of our time and lays out a better world for our and future generations of rangatahi. It’s a list of policy demands from young people across Aotearoa, so that political parties can be held accountable by demanding real commitments to work for rangatahi.
The manifesto will be turned into a booklet available online and in print, and also on the manifesto website, where both individuals and organisations can sign on in support.
WHY DO WE NEED A RANGATAHI MANIFESTO?
Rangatahi in Aotearoa face significant challenges that directly impact our lives whether it’s climate change, education, housing, or social justice. Yet despite being deeply affected by these issues, we are often excluded from the conversations and decisions happening in Parliament and other political spaces. Policies and laws are made without our input, leaving many young people feeling ignored, unheard, and powerless.
This manifesto will be our voice, a bold, youth-led declaration of what rangatahi need and deserve. It will hold political parties accountable by demanding real commitments to work for young people.
